Sunday schedule

  • Child Care

The nursery is available for infants through 2 years old from approximately 8:50-11:45 a.m. (during school year; schedule changes somewhat during the summer). If you wish to keep your younger children in worship until after the singing is done, you may take them downstairs at that time and sign them in with the nursery staff. Pagers are available. A mother's room for nursing moms or fussy babies is located at the back of the auditorium.

  • Sunday School

Sunday School classes are available for all ages, 2 years through 5th grade.

The 2-5 year olds will be using the Gospel Light curriculum, Old Testament in the fall and winter and New Testament in the spring.

The 1st-5th grades will be walking through the Old Testament.

Infants & Toddler 1 Nursery
Toddler 2 Room 104
4's and 5's Room 103

  • Children's Church

Ages 4 through 1st grade move to Rooms 120-121 at 10:10 a.m. for transition/connect time. They will have approximately 30 minutes to play or do an activity together. Then they will have their Children's Church session in Room 103 for the balance of the worship service time. Our primary purpose for Children's Church is worship; having kids participate in all kinds of activities (music, media, lessons, crafts, and hands-on) to help them understand that worship is a lifestyle, not just singing.

  • Junior Church

Grades 2-4 may choose to participate in the transition time at 10:10 a.m. or go right from Sunday School to the auditorium for worship. They are dismissed for Junior Church about halfway through the service. Our primary purpose for children's church is worship; having kids participate in all kinds of activities (music, media, lessons, crafts, and hands-on) to help them understand that worship is a lifestyle, not just singing.

  • Olympians (Sunday night, during school year)

Our purpose

In partnership with parents, our purpose is to help children personally embrace Jesus as their Savior, through Bible exploration, learning to worship God, serving others, and making them feel part of the Trinity family.

1. Partnership -- We must work together if we are going to see children internalize spiritual truths and act upon them. The children's ministries staff supports parents in their children's spiritual development, recognizes that each family unit is unique and special, and values input from parents. The parents understand the importance of bringing children to church regularly, supporting the children's ministries staff by participating in the Children's Ministry Parent Co-operative, and diligently following up children's church experiences with discussion and additional activities at home.

2. Children -- This speaks to our target audience: KIDS and their families! Each classroom has been arranged and designed to meet the needs of, as well as challenge, a particular age of child. We understand, however, that children are only one important part of the equation. In order to reach the children, we must reach the family. Our desire is to see each child's family recognized and appreciated for its uniqueness and differences. We also hope to see each member of the family find a place within the church body where they can minister and be ministered to, and we will support the family in this endeavor.

3. Personally embrace Jesus -- What we seek to strive for in this ministry is for each child to know Jesus as his/her personal Savior. Our desire is to help children develop their decision-making perspectives and patterns to align with God's desires for their lives. At Trinity, our staff is committed to support and encourage godly influences in children's lives and to help them understand how much God loves them.

4. Bible exploration -- It is so important for children to know God's Word. It governs our lives, helps us with decisions, prepares us for each day, strengthens us, lifts us, encourages us, motivates us, and helps us to know the essence of who God is. Children need to have a good foundation of Biblical truths if they are going to embrace them and be governed by them. We have an excellent program for our children that explores the history of the Old and New Testament. By a child having a good foundation of Biblical  history, he/she will then begin to more fully understand who God is and how He works through His people. Also, in knowing the events chronologically, children will be able to see the broader scope of history and can place events in their correct order and have a clearer picture of the flow of the Bible stories.

5. Worship God -- In teaching children about God's love, we share with them that worshiping God is a very important part of their journey in growing spiritually. Experiencing worship helps them gain a deeper understanding of what it means to offer, in thanksgiving, praise, prayer, and song, our love and devotion to Him. It helps them reflect upon His goodness and makes them aware of His presence and His desire to be worshiped.

6. Serving others -- We all have purposes in life that God has given us. Adults and children alike have basic common purposes God calls us to be responsible for. As Christians we are called to love and serve others. We are to go out into the world and share His love by giving of ourselves and serving. It's very common for children to develop the "me first" syndrome. Putting the needs of others before themselves and encouraging them to take part in helping the needy, lonely, or lost becomes an eye opener for them. They learn that it is better to give than to receive, and that in helping others, we do it also for Christ. Our ministry sees this as a vital part of teaching children about loving others. Children become more aware of their own blessings and in turn are willing to share their blessings with others. Serving others models Christ-likeness because it sheds light into a darkened world.

7. Making them feel part of Trinity -- Children enjoy being included in our church family. It gives them a sense of ownership that it's their church, too! They enjoy singing in the sanctuary, taking part in drama, skits, and, in general, taking part in church-related activities. Our goal in making them feel part of the family is to include them in as much as we can! They are our future, and we want them to always feel at home, welcomes, and loved.
