Mississippi Trip - Day 4

Each morning after breakfast we have a devotion given by one of the volunteers. Today a gentleman from Alabama shared with us about not judging others on first impressions because things are often not as they seem. To illustrate this, he performed a card trick and asked the group from New Hampshire for a volunteer -- one that's not too bright. Somehow Brian ended up front with him.
A new day, a new home to work on. This house is in the town of Bay St Louis, about three blocks from the Gulf. Water in the house came up about three feet (see watermark below door knob). Our task was to gut and clean the interior from four feet down as well as remove the lower kitchen cabinets and appliances.
We removed some sheetrock, and in many places wood slats as well. To remove the slats we used battery powered tools. These only lasted about 30 minutes, so we sent Rich back to get a generator.

Meanwhile, Tom and Sallone "The Sledgehammer" showed their destructive capabilities in the kitchen using karate and brute force.

One of the other projects we were to work on was to repair a hole in the floor. There was some plywood already at the house that was previously used. We're just not sure where it came from.
