Preview to Fall

Posted Tuesday, September 1st, 2020

As many of us are preparing for the end of the summer and the start of the fall, we wanted to share a few updates with how we are preparing for this transition at Trinity.

But first, thank you for adapting with us this summer! The resuming of in-person worship services has been a sweet blessing. We thank the Trinity Health Team for their diligence and attention to detail, developing new procedures, protocols, and a Cleaning Team. Signing-up online in advance, screening, social distancing, and wearing masks were new things added. We also incorporated live-streaming to our 10:30 service to help provide an improved way of serving our congregation during this pandemic. You accepted the introduction of these new things with grace, understanding, and cooperation. Thank you.
Secondly, whatever comes next this fall, we still need to be a prayerful people. On May 8th we asked you to pray these things with us: pray for wisdom, pray for unity, and pray for gospel growth. Please continue to pray for such things as we consider what ministry will look like this fall.

Thirdly, the Elders, with assistance from the Trinity Health Team, are exploring how we might ramp up more ministries at Trinity. We will continue to take into consideration the guidelines from the CDC, the state, and the local levels so as to provide safe environments and procedures as we seek to plan for the coming months. We hope to share more at the annual meeting on Sunday, September 20th. The annual meeting will be at 5pm, in lieu of the 5pm worship service. We will require sign-ups in advance for the annual meeting, just like how we have it set up for our worship services. This also means that on Sunday, September 20th, we will only have one service at 10:30am. Be sure to sign-up early for that service or join us for the live-stream.

Lastly, Shawn Allen, our Pastor of Student Ministries, has put together a two-month plan for the student ministry. Working with the Trinity Health Team and the Elders, this two-month plan for student ministry will be focused as a mid-week gathering that will meet outdoors on the back field at the church. Shawn’s creativity and hard work will hopefully serve our students well. As this rolls out, please be in prayer for all the details and for cooperative weather!

Since March, we have learned to plan in smaller time frames, as circumstances and guidelines change. This reality calls for us to be adaptable and to extend grace with one another. Let us do so with joy and resolve, as we seek to encourage each other to treasure Christ through all of life.

On behalf of the Elders,
Pastor Shawn Carpenter
